Jennie Carreon, Principal
A Government Relations Strategist with 22+ years of experience advocating for equity, quality education, health care systems, environmental and social justice movements.
Jennie migrated to the United States at the age of 9 and quickly became aware of social inequalities which continue to fuel her professionally. She is a proud alumna of Los Angeles Unified Schools and attended California universities. Her view of what is possible was ignited as a result of her experience as a International Relations students who studied abroad in 15 different countries.
In 2022, Jennie started Carreón Group to help leverage her talents, government know-how and relationships for her clients. Before starting her own firm, she was appointed as the Deputy Superintendent at the California Department of Education, where she advised the State Superintendent of Public Instruction, the highest ranking education official in the state of California. Previously, she has worked in the California Governor's office, and the City of Los Angeles’ Mayoral Office for two consecutive terms. She was also a health care executive with AltaMed, the largest Federally Qualified Health Center in the country, which is a system of federally funded nonprofit health clinics that serve medically underserved areas and populations.
As a political expert, Jennie has led and managed national and local campaigns, fundraising campaigns and political action committees. In addition to serving social justice through her work, she lends her talents to non-profit community organizations as a board member. Jennie is proud mother of Isabela, a dynamic and loving teenager who fuels her motivation.
